March is a month dedicated to Women’s History. In today’s society, more women are beginning to step out into the business world as entrepreneurs. A bridge only works if there is support from both sides; at Nature Bridges, we want to lend our support to all new and existing female entrepreneurs.
Do those characteristics fit you and are you in search of advice from a successful entrepreneur? Nature Bridges is a division of JD James, Inc. and we are a woman owned business headquartered in North Florida. It all began in 1997 when April James and her husband, JD, decided to commit full time to their construction company and create something amazing.
We’ve highlighted 3 main pieces of advice for anyone who is deciding whether or not to take the entrepreneur path.
1. Think about what and who you value most
What and who you value is important, as it will set a culture for your personal life and business. When getting started, take the time to reflect on the things and people you value most. This episode of Your Move with Andy Stanley talks about great ways to go about this.
2. Enjoy the ups but prepare for the downs.
The start-up of any company is not going to be easy. It will be accompanied by obstacles, but facing these obstacles will build a strong back bone for your company. Always remember to enjoy the ups without getting too caught up in them. An obstacle can come out of nowhere but you must remember to keep getting up.
3. No matter what business you’re in, you must conduct business.
Whether it’s the construction or baking industry, a business is a business. The best advice I never took was to take business classes. Business classes can help teach you the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, marketing, small business management and so much more.
With strong support and dedication, you’re on the right path to become a successful entrepreneur. Nature Bridges takes pride in its woman owned history and we encourage women to take charge of their business aspirations.
