What We’re Made Of

At Nature Bridges, we want to build you a bridge that will last a lifetime (or longer). In order to successfully do this for our clients, we must use special materials that make our structures strong and sturdy while also helping the environment. These materials include glulam, aluminum, steel, and fiberglass. Glulam Glulam is short for glued laminated timber, and is one of our strongest construction materials. In fact, it is even stronger than steel. Glulam is a durable wood beam that can be simple and straight or complex and curved. Aside from being one of our sturdiest materials, it […]

Preserving Nature’s Habitats and the Animals Within Them

Our New Smyrna Dunes project was a satisfying one to complete, and that’s not just because the views were great. The project took a year to complete, but we were able to create a beautiful walkway leading to one of Florida’s most beautiful beaches. The sand dunes in New Smyrna Beach are a natural barrier, protecting homes and businesses from coastal water damage. As we began constructing this project using our Top Down Construction method, we noticed a few friendly animals in the area.         Beach Mice and Gopher Tortoises! These wonderful creatures call the dunes home, […]

Hurricane Season is Coming Top-Down

As we all know, last hurricane season was a doozy and caused damage all over the United States. Somehow, we’ve already entered the 2018 hurricane season, which began on June 1. While our bridge-building techniques might be nature sensitive, nature is not always sensitive to them. Hurricanes can disrupt even the strongest of structures, but luckily, we prepare for these occurrences. Nature Bridges offers damage and hurricane repairs to your bridges, boardwalks, decks, docks, and anything of the sort. We know hurricanes are traumatic, especially when they affect something that is important to you. When damage strikes, give Nature Bridges […]

Earth Day – April 2018

Earth Day is April 22nd, but here at Nature Bridges, we celebrate the Earth every day! We understand how important it is to keep our environment healthy and happy, which is why our bridge construction is completed in the most environmentally friendly way possible. We use a technique called Top-Down Construction. This means we use lightweight hydraulic material and equipment that stays on the top of the structure during construction. We use this method to avoid damaging or disturbing the vegetation and wildlife habitats in that area, like this: Preserving the beauty Earth offers is just part of our daily […]

Four Types of Bridges

You either go over, under or through but never around a bridge. They can be used to cross oceans and rivers, transport cars, and connect two cities. While bridges carry out various functions, it is their shape and size that make all the difference. Whether it’s for functional, aesthetic or economic reasons, all these things are taken into consideration when building. Despite the different style or size, bridges […]
